Extension Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the VERZE browser extension reads, what stays in your browser and what reaches us when you choose to send feedback. It covers version 1.0 of the extension.
Effective: 2 October 2026
1. Who we are
The VERZE browser extension is published by the controller responsible for any personal data it handles:
- Julith Group AG (operating as “VERZE”; “we”, “us”)
- UID: CHE-221.330.585
- Schipfe 32, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland
- Email: team@verze.ai
This policy covers the extension. Our website Privacy Policy covers verze.ai, including the feedback form the extension opens.
2. What the extension reads automatically
The extension reads HTTP and HTTPS pages automatically when a tab loads, changes its URL, becomes active or updates its metadata. This also happens while the side panel is closed and after you navigate within a tab. When its background worker starts, it reads the tabs that are already open and active.
From each page’s own markup it reads the title, meta tags, Open Graph and Twitter tags, structured data, the language declaration, images and text. It uses them to compute an ad-readiness score from 0 to 100, entirely inside your browser.
The score appears as a number on the toolbar icon for each tab. Opening the panel on a tab shows the breakdown and the ad previews for that page.
Local scoring is not tied to an account. The extension has no sign-in and every feature in version 1.0 works without one.
3. Website access and what stays in your browser
- Website access is required for automatic scoring. You control it in your browser’s extension settings. If you withhold it, the extension reads a page only after you click its toolbar button.
- Browser pages and other protected pages cannot be read.
- Results stay in memory. Scores and page details are discarded when the tab closes or the background worker stops.
- The extension keeps no browsing history and has no analytics.
- It sends no page data automatically, to us or to anyone else.
4. Requests that run only when you ask
- Crawler files: when you click “Check files”, the extension requests
/llms.txt,/robots.txt, common sitemap locations and same-origin sitemap URLs declared by the page or its robots.txt. It reports what exists and summarises the public robots rules. These checks never run automatically. - Preview images: images in the ad previews are loaded from the page’s own servers, the same way the page loads them. When you download a preview, the extension requests its images again to embed them into the PNG. That includes images the page declares on another domain such as a CDN.
- Markdown and structured data: when you open that section, the extension reads the page’s article and JSON-LD into the panel. The results stay in memory until the page analysis changes or the panel closes. The copy buttons put them on your clipboard. They are never stored persistently.
5. Feedback you choose to send
Feedback is voluntary. When you click “Report a scoring issue”, the extension opens our form at verze.ai/extension/feedback/ with a JSON report attached in your browser’s memory. Nothing is uploaded until you press “Send feedback”. You can review and download the report on the form first.
The report contains:
- the full URL of the page;
- your browser name and version, its user agent and the extension version;
- the browser window and page viewport dimensions and the device pixel ratio;
- the score and its breakdown;
- the page signals and metadata the score is built from;
- the page’s article as Markdown and its JSON-LD structured data, which the extension reads when you click the button even if you never opened that section;
- the crawler-file checks you already ran. Checks you did not run are marked as not collected.
The extension does not read cookies, passwords or input values. Page content and URLs can still contain private information, so check the attachment before you send it. Reports are limited to 2 MB.
With the report you send your message. Your email address is optional and only needed if you want a reply.
Firefox asks for optional data-sharing permissions before it opens a report. If you decline, local scoring keeps working.
6. Where feedback goes and how we use it
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts the form and its handler. Cloudflare Turnstile verifies each submission to keep bots out. Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the request and to run that check. We do not add your IP address to the report or to the email we receive.
- Postmark delivers your message, the report and your email address, if you gave one, to the VERZE team by email.
- Google Workspace (provided by Google Ireland Limited) runs the mailbox that receives it.
Our team reads your report because you send it to us for that purpose. We use it only to investigate and fix the scoring issue and to reply to you if you asked for a reply.
The form is part of verze.ai, so our website Privacy Policy applies to it too, including its legal bases, recipients and international transfers. Visitor analytics load on the form only if you accepted them in the cookie banner on verze.ai.
7. How long we keep feedback
The extension itself stores nothing. We delete your message, the report and your email address once the issue is resolved and at the latest 180 days after you sent them. Ask us at team@verze.ai and we delete them sooner.
Postmark holds a copy of each delivered message for a limited period under its own retention settings.
8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice:
- We use the data only for the extension’s single purpose: scoring a page’s readiness for social ads and previewing it as an ad.
- We do not sell user data.
- We do not use or transfer it for personalised advertising. We do not pass it to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers.
- We do not use or transfer it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- We share it only with the providers named in Section 6 that deliver feedback to us or where the law requires it.
- People at VERZE read only the reports that users send them.
9. Accounts and future features
Version 1.0 has no sign-in and no connection to a VERZE account. Features that connect the extension to the VERZE platform, such as adding a page to your VERZE library or showing VERZE Lens data, are not part of version 1.0. If a later version adds them, we will update this policy before they ship.
10. Your rights, changes and contact
You can ask us for access to the feedback data we hold about you, for its correction or for its deletion. The further rights and the complaint options in our website Privacy Policy apply too.
We update this policy when the extension’s data handling changes. The effective date at the top shows the current version.
